Olho Tenebre is the first solo exhibition by the artist Sofia Tudela, where she explores multiple plastic media, such as painting, photography, glass, among others. The various works presented, developed from 2016 to the present, seek to evoke discomfort and confusion in their monotony and monochromatism, the experience of the works is reflected through the various textures and plastic forms.‘Sustained’ a lot by black, with inspirations in natural and geometric shapes that complement each other, these works will also seek inspiration in feelings and psychological disorders such as anxiety and depression, among other disorders. In their complexity and dark ambience, they aim to attract the viewer and submerge their gaze in the set of works, almost as if they were part of an installation that makes time stop.

Sofia Tudela, born in Lisbon, is a Visual Artist and has a degree in Painting from the University of Fine Arts of Lisbon. Since 2021, she is taking her Master in Criticism, Curation and Theories of Art, at the same University. Her work is developed through various mediums such as photography, installation, sculpture and mainly painting. Her inspirations come from Surrealism and Expressionism of the 20th century, with a touch of kitsch, looking for more fanciful and unrealistic themes, manifesting itself more by abstractions connected with a more ‘demented’ area of the human brain.
Between 2014 and 2016, several of his works appeared in the editions of Fragmente magazine. He has already participated in the group exhibition ‘Desvio’ at Fábrica Braço de Prata, in the exhibition ’12×12′ at Mercado de Santa Clara both in 2020 and also participated in the group exhibition ‘Grenzen Der Privatheit’ at Miau Estúdio Berlin in Berlin in 2021.
