Kaizen – Art is Momentum

In Art is Momentum, Kaizen presents a collection of new works created in Lisbon during the past two years, which showcase the evolution of a style more than a decade in the making. Reminiscent of a more lyrical evolution of American Abstract Naturalism, Kaizen applies broad gestural strokes and palette dabs, as well as less traditional tools such as a soldering iron, creating textures and color surfaces of natural scenes.

The style which kaizen dubs Abstract Naturalism lends itself perfectly to landscapes, and Kaizen takes the viewer on a journey through the seasons, completing am archetypical cycle that emulates the stellar voyage we are all a part of.

Kaizen – Art is Momentum will be on display at Prisma from the 15.12. the until the 20.12.2021.

Kaizen was born in Russia in 1986, grew up in Germany and moved to Portugal in 2017. Following also the kaizen principle – the pursuit of art is intended not to be stuck, but rather in development and constantly improving, not only in concept, but also in technique, material and artistic expression.

Kaizen’s art can be categorized as abstract naturalism and landscapism. A search for real textures mixed with a capture of the momentum. The use of lights and reflections into the middle of the colored coldness and humid distance and still manages to find cozyness. The main material, the wooden board, accomplishes a gathering of textures, colors and shapes
that, arranged in a specific way, allow the spectator to be immersed in the wood & nature world.
