Mimetismo, Reclusão e Soltura

The exhibition has 14 artworks (11 paintings and 3 sculptures) created by Luca Palmarini on the past 2 years that were unstable, personally and to the general population. The creative timeline can be split in 3 different personal moments: pre-pandemic in Lisbon, Lockdown in São Paulo and re-opening in Lisbon.
Moving to another country demands a lot of capability of adaptation, in every sphere of life of the individual, but every change is planned. The pandemic was not, as the uncertain and the fear that comes with it.

In March 2020, Luca went back to his house in Brazil and, for the first time since the beginning of his career, stopped painting and spent the whole day sculpting. It happen because of the -almost- instintive necessity of creating something that was physical and could be touched. The 14 artworks can be grouped in 3 different themes: Landscapes [open], Intimacy [locked] and Death.
