Sara Valdez, artist, 22 years old
She graduated in Fashion Design at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon in 2020, two years later she dedicates herself mostly to making jewelry with unconventional materials.
More Than Just Flesh is her first solo exhibition where she deals with the theme of body dysmorphia, a psychological disorder in which there is excessive concern for the body, causing the person to overvalue small imperfections or imagine these imperfections. This theme arises due to her obsession with people and consequently their bodies, including her own, everything in her art results from an observation of herself and her surroundings.
