Fernando lourenco’s concert
Music is more than a passion for me. It’s simply a way of life. I was born Fernando Lourenco, but I created my art under the name Ferlo.
I picked up a guitar for the first time at the age of thirteen and penned the first of hundreds of songs that I’ve written since then. I taught myself to play, and throughout the years, I gradually matured into my own original sound and style of musicianship.
In 2020, I started working on my third album: “Systematized Human”. These new songs take a different direction from my previous two albums, going back to basics, in a “less-is-more” ideology.
At the same time, I began growing my own food. This extrordinary experience has had a deep impact on my life. I got closer to planet Earth, closer to my family and closer to my friends. If I step away for a minute with a naked eye, I can clearly see the immediate impact of this particular event in my music in my songwriting and in my personality.
Songs like: “Things we can’t afford to forget”, “Human People” or “Thank You Lord” are slowly, but surely, beginning to come together with every performance, with every breath I take on stage.
These handcrafted songs that I have poured my soul into, subtly jump between genres. I try to take the listener on a trip of my musical influences and personal experiences, with an inspired mix of melodic old fashion “stool-and-a-microphone” guitar driven storytelling.
