Somatic based creative movement workshop Mossa Movement is a 1.5 hour workshop using Somatic practices to support bodily awareness through creative movement. The workshop is set at a relaxed pace, exploring movement from within and with others in the space. Fully guided and supported by Bryony, the facilitator.
ARTIST(S)
Bryony studied MA Dance and Somatic Well-Being at the University of Central Lancashire
(2019) and BA in Contemporary Dance at the University of Chester (2011).
She also took part in the Creative Articulations Process training project (2020) developed by Jane Bacon (Jungian Analyst and Focusing Trainer) and Vida Midgelow (Dance Artist and Academic) which supports artists/practitioners/students/scholars in deepening their awareness in/of the creative process.
Bryony is an independent dance practitioner, focusing on Somatic movement practice and contemporary based improvisation. Her line of enquiry is focused and informed around the body in space and its connection to the self and environmental dynamics.
She has a passion for Jungian depth psychology, nature and authentic movement practice.
Alongside her personal practice, Bryony has facilitated workshops in Manchester and
Lisbon, holding an accessible and inclusive space for creative movement for adults.
The Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester was home to Mossa Movement, a dance workshop for Neuro-diverse children, which Bryony founded and ran for several years before leaving the UK to move to Portugal.
She has also facilitated freelance dance projects in various community and educational settings in the North West of England.
Bryony is currently living in Lisbon and is part of this year’s Laboratório Coreográfico at Forum Dança.
